Server Disk IOP's Calculator
Server Disk IOP's Calculator to give you an indication of the potential IOP's throughput on a database server,
About
This is a working version of the Excel IO Calculator in ASP.NET, which I use for calculating the rough IO potential for SQL Servers. I haven't added number validation yet, so you can put 1 disk in a Raid 5 array at present, however this will be getting updated in the next few days, along with adding some extra details on the calculations.
For explanations of different Raid levels have a look on
Wikipedia Raid Levels
or
Wikipedia Hard Disk Drive
.
This is not a guarantee of performance, only an indicator.
