Portsmouth

Southsea and Old Portsmouth
Southsea Common forms a swathe of open land between the Solent and Portsmouth, kept open because the threat of invasion meant the need for cannons to be able to fire from their positions further back. It is a fairly unique area, considering Portsea Island itself is the most densely populated island in the UK.
We went for a little stroll to see the Cathedral and War Memorial. Then visited the Pembroke for a doggy friendly refreshment.
